Training

HR training for managers

Most managers are promoted for being good at the work, then handed the people side of the job with little preparation. This programme gives them the practical HR understanding to handle absence, performance, conduct and conflict fairly and confidently — and to know when to escalate.

The situations we prepare managers for

Absence and wellbeing

Recording absence properly, running return-to-work conversations and knowing when to involve HR or occupational health.

Performance that has slipped

Setting clear expectations, giving evidence-based feedback and using an informal stage well before anything becomes formal.

Conduct and difficult behaviour

Distinguishing conduct from capability, keeping fair records and following a reasonable process from the start.

Conflict between colleagues

Stepping in early, holding a calm structured conversation and agreeing workable next steps rather than avoiding it.

Difficult conversations

Preparing, opening the conversation, staying factual under pressure and closing with agreed actions in writing.

Engagement and retention

Understanding what keeps people, recognising contribution meaningfully and spotting the early signs of burnout.

How delivery works

Sessions run at your workplace or online, are interactive throughout and use real situations your managers are dealing with. Every delegate receives a certificate on completion. We are not a law firm, so where a matter needs legal advice we will say so.

Tell us the size of the group, the issues you are seeing and your preferred format, and we will send a written proposal with dates and a fixed price.
